
The Romanian Karate Federation WKC (FRK WKC) was founded in May 2000 through the decision of The Ministry of Youth and Sports to acknowledge our organisation among the national federations of Romania.
The roots of our organisation date even form 1997, when a group of enthusiasts decided to found The Romanian Wado Ryu Union (RWRU), with the purpose of developing a high level activity in the sphere of Karate, at national and international level. The conversion of RWRU to FRK WKC, through the acknowledge of our organisation by The Ministry of Youth and Sports, was just a normal and following result of an excelent activity at international level, the obtaining of the first world title at Bochum in 1999.
The mission of our federation is to promote the high values of Karate among the children, the youth or all who believe in Martial Arts, with the purpose of educating the self control, developing the mind and physical capacities of all who follow our path.
Our objectives are:
- continuous improvement of the activity of all departments of the federation, with the goal of obtaining good result at world level, which would lead to the spreading through sports of the image of Romania around the world;
- support to the member clubs in the activity of training, by organising training camps or other forms of training at national and international level with low fees, which would allow the acces of all sportsmen and coaches;
- offer of a dense and high level competitional program with the purpose to verify the training level of the sportsmen;
- formation of the national team, based on criteria of performance and value, by selecting the most trained sportsmen throughout an eficient and transparent selection system;
- training of referees and organisation team, with the purpose to assure a fair arbitration, impartial and at a high level;
- spreading the activity and the result of our federation with the goal to increase the number of member clubs;
- organising national and international competitions, but also other activities which have the purpose the promotion of friendship, solidarity, fight against drugs and doping in the mass and performance sports.
Affiliation criteria: any club willing to participate at fair competitions, training camps at national and international level with low fees, could become member of our federation if it is recognised by SNA (Sports National Agency), owns a Sports Identity Certificate and if it respects the statue and the regulations of our federation.
